Srinagar. November 03 (KNO) : Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman, Syed Ali Geelani on Saturday strongly condemned the killing of mentally challenged person Raies Ahmad Wani by ‘personnel of Indian army camp’ Pehnoo Shopian. “It is a cold-blooded murder,” said Geelani in a statement issued to KNO, saying “forces, laced with unbridled powers and impunity under the cover of black laws, are trigger-happy and kill Kashmiris whenever and wherever they wish to, as has been witnessed in the last seven decades.” Strongly condemning the killing, Geelani stressed for stringent action against killers and demanded probe into the killing by world agencies. “Indian forces personnel enjoying unbridled powers under draconian laws were feeling no shame to spill the blood of innocent people in the occupied territory,” he said. While extending his heartfelt condolences and sympathies with the family members of slain person, Geelani said that “we stand with them and prayed for eternal peace to departed soul.” Rejecting the police version about the killing, Geelani said “these statements are issued to befool people and added that instead of taking any action against killers, confusing statements are issued to save these murderers.”“Since there is no accountability, thousands of Kashmiris have been killed in cold-blood and merciless manner and not even a single soldier involved has ever been brought to book or tried by law,” Geelani said. Blaming authorities and forces for their hooliganism, Geelani said that “killing a Kashmiri has become an ordinary thing for these trigger-happy killers because they have no accountability or the fear of facing justice.”“They are enjoying immunity and carrying massacre of innocents under well thought out plan,” added Geelani. “Statements about the investigation by the administration is nothing but a eyewash to befool the common people as they are providing a legal cover to these killers and are hence equally responsible for these killings,” Geelani said and appealed the peace-loving people of the world to wake up and put pressure on India for stopping genocide of people of Jammu Kashmir. Meanwhile, paying tributes to slain militant of Arampora Sopre, Nasir Ahmad Teeli, Geelani said that “these brave youth are sacrificing their today for the freedom of our land,” while as he condemned the police action against the mourners and said that “Indian forces in one hand kill of youth and other hand are not allowing us to participate the funerals.” Geelani said that “state people are facing extreme situations and added during and after these encounters the civilian populations are subjected to arbitrary measures and unproportionate military might.”Geelani expressed his deep concern over prevailing horrendous situations in state and said that virtually authorities have changed state into a battle field. “We salute our martyrs,” said Geelani, adding that “it is stubborn attitude of India that precious lives are being snatched from already subjugated and suppressed people of occupied state.” While blaming ‘stubborn attitude of Indian leadership’ for continuous bloodshed, Geelani said that “their denial and unconcern is the sole reason for this unabated bloodshed in Jammu and Kashmir and reiterating his stand that the UN resolutions guarantee the peaceful and amicable solution of this long standing dispute in accordance with the aspirations of people of Jammu and Kashmir.”(KNO) Srinagar, November 03 (KNO) : Hurriyat Conference (M) has strongly condemned the ‘brutal custodial killing’ of a mentally unsound person Raies Ahmed Wani, son of Abdul Hameed Wani, a resident of Bugam, Kulgam following “Government forces at Shopian army camp tortured him immensely before being shot dead.” In a statement issued to KNO, Hurriyat (M) while expressing solidarity and sympathy with the family members of slain Wani, termed the incident as ‘tragic and open aggression and terrorism’ by the forces in Kashmir. Hurriyat (M) said that “the trigger happy Indian forces feel proud in killing even insane persons as they are enjoying ultimate impunity and unbridled powers under the draconian black laws to kill anyone at their will and wish in Kashmir.”The statement said that “Wani’s brutal killing is not the first as earlier also dozens of such incidents have taken place wherein mentally deranged persons were killed by the forces in Kashmir and time is witness that not a single forces personnel was held accountable till date.” It strongly denounced the rampant CASOS in south and north Kashmir areas that include Bandipora, Hajin, Kupwara, Handwara and Pulwama, Shopian, Anantnag, Bijberha, Pampore stating that under the guise of search for armed youth, forces go berserk and resort to manhandling of inmates including women and vandalize household goods and other electronic gadgets which reflects frustration on part of the armed forces.(KNO)
